Deep Soaking Tub, Durham, England
Product: Nirvana Deep Soaking Tub
Client: Mr & Mrs F.
The Project:
Durham residents, Mr and Mrs F, were planning the layout of their house a year in advance of its renovation. They were keen to have both a bath tub and a separate shower cubicle contained within their master bedroom.
During their research, they found the Cabuchon website and viewed a range of products before making contact. In particular, they wanted to have a clear understanding of their best options given the size and layout of the rooms. They provided a plan of the new house so that the Cabuchon customer services team could propose appropriate solutions.
On the basis of the plans and subsequent discussions with the clients, staff suggested a deep soaking tub for the purposes of both comfort and space saving. Mr F is 6′ 4″ tall so the couple wanted to be sure that he would find it comfortable and practical. Cabuchon explained that, because of its sculptured seat, the Nirvana is comfortable and functional for deep soaking, regardless of the bather’s height; indeed, it has worked with clients who were 6′ 7″ and who had pronounced themselves well satisfied with the tub.
The couple duly ordered the Nirvana and chose to have it installed beneath the window. This provided plenty of natural light and enabled the bather to face the view. The bath was installed with rich mahogany wood panelling and a separate shower unit was built alongside.
“I bought one of your Japanese soaking tubs – in fact, it was the very first thing I bought for a house I hadn’t even started renovating at the time! We finished our en-suite at the weekend and it struck me that you might like to see the bath in situ. We think it looks stunning. My husband has fallen in love with the bath (all 6’ 4” ) and I’m struggling to get a look in at the moment… Still, I’m looking forward to spending more time in it as winter draws in.”
