The Project:
In 2023, Mr & Mrs Y decided to refurbish their bathroom at their home in North Yorkshire. The room was of a relatively ordinary size but the couple wanted to install both a bath and a separate walk-in shower. They recognised that with a conventional bath tub, that would have made the room feel somewhat cramped so they began to look for baths with more compact dimensions.
They also wanted to ensure that the bath would be comfortable and ‘future-proof’ – in the sense that it would have to remain safely and easily accessible in later years. With these criteria in mind, they visited the Cabuchon showroom in Lancaster to see the various bath models for themselves and to ask questions of the customer services team.
During their visit, Mr & Mrs Y were able to sit in a range of different soaking tubs to test their comfort and fit. As a result, they decided upon on the Calyx 1230 soaking tub. The Cabuchon team confirmed that it could be adapted to include custom-positioned grab-bars, and provided technical advice regarding their optimal placement. The couple chose a chrome finish for the bars to match their other bathroom fittings.
The soaking tub was then built to order. In addition to the custom grab-bars, it also featured a hand shower and, to retain the clean lines of the bath rim, a chrome-finished Aqua Filler (i.e. a combined filler and overflow).
Cabuchon then liaised with the couple and their chosen installer to arrange delivery and to provide advice on the bath’s proper installation. The work was completed as planned and, soon afterwards, Mr & Mrs Y wrote to express their delight at the finished project.
