The Project:
During the planning stages of a new bathroom in her home in Austin, Texas, Ms K L decided that a deep soaking tub would offer two important advantages. First, its compact size would enable it to fit comfortably alongside a separate shower enclosure and, second, the inbuilt seat would make it easier to get in and out.
As a result of some internet research, she found the Cabuchon website and decided that the Nirvana deep soaking tub would be ideally suited to her needs. She wanted to install the bath as a freestanding unit so she ordered it with a 4-sided panel, which was supplied in a matching colour and the same Ficore material.
With all the details agreed, Cabuchon duly began building the bath and arranged the delivery.
“I have loved working with Cabuchon. They keep you informed about the process and helped make sure I got just what I wanted.
“I also love this tub. As you get older, getting up and down from a flat bottom tub gets more difficult. The chair design of the Nirvana makes getting in and out so much easier, and soaking in it is so comfortable.
“I decided I liked the look of a stand-alone tub, and Cabuchon gave me hints on installation that really helped. Because it is a little tall, we felt more secure using two steps to get in and came up with the configuration you see here. When we are just using the shower, we only have the teak stool out. When we are using the tub, we add the step with a handle for more stability. The towel rack to the right of the tub is a grab bar, so getting into and out of the tub feels really secure.
“If I had to do it over again, I would still get a Nirvana tub. Thank you again for all your help and the wonderful tub.”
