Project Description
Deep Soaking Tub, Denbighshire, Wales
Product: Imersa Deep Soaking Tub
Client: Mr R JP
The Project:
When Mr R J began planning the redevelopment of a small bathroom at his home in Denbighshire, Wales, he drew on previous experience of a deep soaking tub that he had first encountered in Japan. He appreciated the way that the original soaking tub had combined practicality, comfort and efficient use of space – all of which would be important for his new project.
He recognised that the smaller footprint of a soaking tub would not only fit the dimensions of the room better; it would also afford the opportunity to install a separate shower area. This would make the room more versatile and user-friendly.
He therefore began looking for suitable suppliers, checking important details such as depth, external dimensions and materials. Ultimately, having spoken with Cabuchon’s customer services team, he chose the standard-sized Imersa, together with an extended waste/overflow. The bath was duly manufactured and delivered to his home on the appointed day, ready for installation.
“I first experienced Japanese soaking tubs and Japanese bathing methods, during a working stay in Komatsu some time ago. They use small spaces efficiently but retain practicality and comfort.
“Now in Wales, we needed to refurbish a rather small bathroom that had already been modified a few times. Starting from scratch, the first requirement was to find an affordable bathtub, preferably British, and to design the full installation around it as best the small space allowed.
“We found several but none compared for seating and depth-of-soak with Cabuchon’s Imersa. It cost far less than many imported from the East, and the project was on its way.
“Cabuchon precisely met their promised delivery date and, a week after starting to rip the old installation out, we had it. Stunning looking and all items working well. The long hot soak, following a shower, is well worth the effort!”
