Description
The Arcadia Oval Bath – Double Ended
The Arcadia’s curved ends are gently sloped and contoured to ensure the utmost bather comfort. They promote a relaxed, reclined posture and make a real pleasure of shared or single bathing.
Taps can be fitted in the side rim, on an adjacent wall or on the surrounding deck. The Arcadia can also be used with a free standing riser or – to eliminate altogether the need for a spout – a combined filler and overflow.
It is available in two alternative external lengths: 1700 and 1778 mm (67 and 70”). Both options have an external width of 810mm / 32″.
Access and fitting:
Turned on their sides, both versions of the Arcadia will pass through a standard door, assuming that the opening has a width of at least 750mm / 29½″.
Taps and any other controls – such as for hydrotherapy – can be mounted wherever space and good plumbing practices allow. However, since the bath is double-ended it is sensible to fit these items on the surrounding deck or on one of the straight sides, thereby ensuring that both ends remain unobstructed and comfortable.
The Arcadia bath tub is normally supplied with the only the waste and overflow holes pre-drilled. This allows the owner and installer greater flexibility when making a final decision, on-site, about the precise positioning of spouts, taps and any additional fittings.
The Arcadia built-in bath is supplied with four screw-threaded feet, allowing a height adjustment of between 90mm and 140mm (3½″ to 5½″). These adjustable feet are factory-fitted and set to spread the bath’s weight evenly. During installation on-site, great care must be taken if the feet are subsequently adjusted to accommodate a sloping or uneven floor. For security, stability and durability, it is essential that the whole of the bath’s weight rests squarely and evenly on the feet. No weight at all should rest on the rim or body of the bath, nor (where present) on any side panel.
As an oval bath, the Arcadia is generally sold for built-in use.
