Elysia Free Standing Bath

The rectangular, double-ended Elysia is the most distinctive of all Cabuchon’s free standing baths. It boasts an elegant bowed front, angled sides and a shallow seat at each end for the last word in bathing comfort. It is available in two versions. One has plain rims and the other has a tap/faucet deck on the rear rim.

Description

The Elysia Double-ended Free Standing Bath

Another notable feature of the Elysia double-ended bath is that it has a different shaped front and rear. The front face has a shallow curve and the back is 10mm (approx. one third of an inch) higher than the front.

It is a fact often ignored by conventional bath makers that a seated bather is more comfortable if the feet are lower than the rest of the body, so the Elysia is specially shaped to incorporate a shallow seat at either end, each with a comfortable curved back and head rest. The seats form an integral, seamless part of the base of the bath and measure just 25mm / approx. 1″ in height. The additional comfort they afford is remarkable.

Access and fitting:

The Elysia will pass easily through a door with a standard width of 750mm / 29½″.

For installations where the Elysia free standing bath is to be placed with its back to a wall, shaped pieces are available that will fill the gap between bath and wall. (Please see below.)

Taps and other controls – such as for hydrotherapy – should be mounted on the tap / faucet deck of the rear rim. On the plain-rimmed version taps and other fittings can be fixed wherever good plumbing practices allow. The plain-rimmed model is also suitable for use with free standing risers. Since the bath is double-ended, taps and spouts should not be installed near to the ends, where they might prevent a bather from reclining comfortably.

The Elysia double-ended free standing bath tub is normally supplied with pre-drilled holes for the waste and overflow. Holes are not normally ready-drilled for taps etc. This is because the best way to decide on their exact placement is to view the bath in its finished position. The installer can then be instructed accordingly.

The Elysia is supplied with four screw-threaded feet, which allow up to 50mm (2″) of height adjustment. These adjustable feet are factory-fitted and set to spread the bath’s weight evenly. During installation on-site, great care must be taken if the feet are subsequently adjusted to accommodate a sloping or uneven floor. For security, stability and durability, it is essential that the whole of the bath’s weight rests squarely and evenly on the feet – and not at all on the body of the bath.

Material: FICORE®

Installation:

Although the Elysia is commonly chosen as a free standing bath, an inset version is also available.

Colour choice:

The use of FICORE® allows the customer to specify literally any colour for the bath, or indeed, any combination of colours. For no extra charge, it can be made to match any established sanitaryware colour (i.e. other manufacturers’ established standard colours) and a large number of past colours. For a small extra charge, it can also be computer matched to a colour sample provided by the customer – be that a paint, ceramic, stone or fabric. Base colours of variegated materials like marble can also be matched. The natural finish of FICORE® is high gloss but, as an optional extra, it can be supplied with a matt finish or pre-primed for the application of special paint effects.

The Elysia free standing bath may be used with a Cabuchon Hydrotherapy system.
